Meditation and Stress!

Another thing i have experienced since i first started meditation is the fact that i went from being stressed out about 95% of the time to being stressed out 0.1% of the time.

Meditation makes me pretty much immune to stressful situations. It makes me realize that life goes on whether or not i stress or not.. and stress only makes things much worse! I used to stress over school, money, friends, ect..
The only thing that happened was that i failed all my tests due to stress, spent all my money to buy pointless things that supposedly kill stress, and wasted a lot of time with friends that weren't there for me when i needed them anyway!

As meditation calmed my nerves, i began to see things much more clearly and wondered why i was so stupid before meditation.I see now that if i go into a test calmly, i have a higher chance of passing. Meditation is free stress relief so i don't need to bother buying things. Friends come and go like the wind, so i don't get too attached or waste time.

I even noticed my ability to stay calm in stressful life-threatening situations. For example: My neighbor who can't speak English very well called me and said he needed help because he just cut his hand pretty badly. I walk into his house and see blood all over the place, i see him almost fainting from the pain and blood loss, and his inability to speak English was stopping him from communicating with the 911 emergency operator properly.

If i didn't meditate, i would of walked in there and either fainted or my hands/voice would be too shaky to help and communicate properly in order to help him. Instead, i ran in there and grabbed the phone, talked to the operator in a relaxed manner, and wrapped my neighbors hand with a bandage while keeping pressure on the wound. Basically, my calmness in that situation saved that man's life!

As you can see, meditation can have practical benefits on daily events... but also on events which usually cause massive amounts of stress or even panic! This ability to deal with stress actually makes me smile when i see people that act exactly like i did in the past, before my meditation practice. This is another reason i recommend meditation to anyone who has excessive stress or has to deal with massive stress daily ( A Police Officer or Hospital Emergency nurse/doctor.)

Take care and Good Luck!

Meditation and Detachment

As i get deeper into my journey of meditation, i can't help but to realize that i am becoming more detached from society and people in general. I was always an introverted person, even way before i started meditation, i was pretty anti-social. When i first started meditation it gave me the confidence and desire to communicate with people in order to spread the joys of meditation.

Now it is becoming the complete opposite. I just lose interest in what people have to say unless it relates to the Buddhist teachings,Zen, Dreaming, etc.. I am becoming somewhat anti-social now and only want to talk to people that have similar interests. It's almost as if i have transcended all this pointless gossip everyone seems to be into. This detachment is a great feeling, but on the other hand it's not. I sometimes feel lonely or isolated from the world, as if i had no friends or nobody to talk to... the only choice i have is to meditate and detach from this feeling as well.

I dream of going into the mountains and being either completely alone or with fellow like-minded people. I find it hard to practice Buddhism in modern day society. There are too many distractions and too many useless things that i have already detached from, yet almost all the people from society care for these things. That's where i think this feeling of isolation is coming from. I want to be alone somewhere so that i could continue my spiritual journey...yet i am stuck in this place and have nowhere to go so that i can freely practice for days on end.

There is a Zen center i go to, but i still find it not to be enough. I don't want to spend a couple of hours in the mountains with other Buddhist practitioners. Eventually the meditation session or mass is over and i have to go back home to society. I don't want to completely escape society, i just want to stay in the Zen center for days on end. This would give me the ability to deepen my practices without any disturbances.

I'm sure this feeling will pass... but i am positive it will keep returning again and again in the future until i finally leave behind society for an extended period of time.

A little rant about what i am experiencing recently! Thanks for reading and feel free to share your thoughts!

Rishi Organic White Tea (Silver Needle Loose) Review

I have always been a fan of white tea and never really had the pleasure to experience some organic white tea. I decided to give the Rishi brand a shot.

I was pleasantly surprised when i popped open the nice looking tin it was in.My nostrils were bombarded with the smell of FRESH white tea leaves. As i touched the leaves i noticed that they were indeed very fresh and not dry at all. This made me very excited, so i decided to give this tea a taste.

The back of the tin recommend steeping the tea for about 4-6 minutes in a water temperature that is slightly below boiling. I did just that and noticed the leaves turned from a brownish color into a vibrant green as they steeped. I separated the leaves from the tea because it obviously wouldn't be fun sipping on tea and getting a mouth full of leaves in the process.

I take a nice whiff of the tea and it has a nice herbal/fruity aroma. I finally give the tea a sip and i am instantly impressed by the rich, yet subtle flavor. Previous white teas i have tried always had a slightly strong flavor and aftertaste to them. This wasn't the case with Rishi! The tea has a gentle flavor and a pleasant aftertaste. The flavor is in fact so gentle that i would recommend not eating or drinking anything with a strong flavor... For example: garlic, salami, fish, etc..

The effects of the tea were nice as well. A gentle calming sensation and a feeling as if everything would be ok. The tea can be steeped numerous times and i usually steep it at least 4 times before discarding it.That is very convenient because you can get more bang for your buck. Roughly 1 tablespoon of loose leaves makes four 8oz servings of tea.

Overall, i give this tea a 9 out of 10. It is just excellent in all aspects! I definitely recommend trying it if you are a fan of white tea!

Ho Shou Wu (Fo-Ti) Amazing Herb For Hair!

I've been using Ho Shou Wu 10:1 extract for about a week now and i am noticing great benefits already! I am a man with long hair and i want to keep that long hair as long as possible. About 80% of the males in my family have balding issues by the age of 30. I do NOT want to end up like them! I looked around on the internet for some tonic herbs that have a great effect on hair loss and anything related to the scalp. I stumbled upon this marvelous herb during my research.

Ho Shou Wu is an adaptogenic herb that is a kidney and liver tonic. So, obviously this herb has way more benefits than just helping with hair loss! After taking this herb, i've noticed an significant increase in vitality, appetite, and libido.I feel more energized all day long and eat about 3 times as much as i did before i started taking this herb. I get hungry about every 10 minutes after eating now! It's actually a good thing for me because i need to gain some weight anyway. As for the benefits on hair, i see great results as well. My hair is falling out less and is not as thin anymore. It also feels very strong and healthy!

I've read a lot of reports of people getting hepatitis and other severe side effects from this herb. I have had absolutely no side effects and only benefits. This is a high potency extract and i've been taking it daily for quite some time already, so if it gave me any negative side effects, i would notice them around the first day. Maybe the people who experience the bad side effects were using either the unprepared herb or a different type of extract. My belief is that if the herb is prepared properly... you shouldn't get any type of negative reactions. I will continue to take this herb for the next couple of months. If i experience any type of negative symptoms, i will report them here immediately and discontinue the use of this herb.

Overall, i give this herb a 8/10 so far for all it's effects and benefits. I would suggest it to anyone that has hair problems or just wants to increase vitality and promote proper organ function.

I got this extract from www.hyperionherbs.com

Reishi Mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum)

My experience with this herb has been quite positive. I was doubtful that this herb would truly do anything, other than a placebo effect. I was proven wrong by my extensive use of it. I used a Reishi 10:1 extract from www.hyperionherbs.com. I took about half a tea spoon of this dark brown powder and dissolved it in about 8oz of hot water and gave it a sip.It has a strong bitter taste, but also has a sweet aftertaste. I don't like using sugar or sweeteners unless it's absolutely necessary. So, i would drink the tea unsweetened and it wasn't too bad. I actually got used to the unique taste!

The effects were almost instantaneous! As i held the tea in my mouth, i could already feel a calming sensation coming over me. It had a very relaxing effect on the mind, which helps in meditation. The most important effects are the ones it had on my body though. I drank one tea a day, usually late at night right before bed. This herb allowed me to fall asleep quickly and feel very refreshed and energetic in the morning. It eliminated all morning grogginess wonderfully! Mainly i felt a lot more energetic and in tune with the spiritual realm. This herb actually allowed me to experience a fascinating thing in meditation. As i went deeper and deeper, i got to a state of complete emptiness.

I forgot who i was, where i was, what i was doing, and even the fact that i was still in meditation. I started to hear voices of some sort and a minor vibration in my body. The voices were mainly talking in gibberish because i could only decipher a handful of words out of a ten-minute conversation. This herb also had a good effect on my pineal gland. I felt more pulsating and was able to predict events much easier than before.

Overall, i highly recommend this herb to anyone who is curious about it or anyone who would like a significant boost in both physical AND spiritual energy!

Feedback and Experiences are appreciated... post them in the comments :)

Pulsating Pineal Gland. (Third Eye)

There are some days that my pineal gland pulsates strongly all day long. It's a sensation that's hard to explain properly. It feels like a gentle throbbing, cold, and piercing sensation. When this happens, i find it a lot easier to see people's auras and feel more connected to the spiritual realm at all times. Sometimes it even feels like i am in deep meditation while i am not trying to meditate or quiet my mind in any way. This pulsating happens after an intense meditation session or when i eat nourishing organic foods. Whenever i make my own green or fruit smoothies, the pulsating always comes up soon after drinking the smoothie.I've also been avoiding water with fluoride in it. I have my own reverse osmosis water filter that really makes life a lot easier and i feel a lot better/alert after drinking only filtered water all day long. I believe this is a normal part of my spiritual path and i did notice the intensity of my meditations increasing lately. This pulsating is not an annoying or uncomfortable feeling at all. It is a very comfortable and relaxing feeling, i welcome it whenever it wants to arise. Just another fun experience i wanted to share :). Take care everyone!
